Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church
This 10,000 SF new facility includes a Fellowship space which accommodates 250 people at banquet seating, and serves as the Sanctuary until Phase II is constructed. The facility also includes six classrooms in the lower level and pastoral offices adjacent to the Fellowship space. The building form takes advantage of the sloped site to allow grade-level entry at both levels and includes approximately 180 parking stalls and a driveway drop-off area adjacent to the Fellowship area.

First Evangelical Covenant Church
This 21,000 SF church and school includes several classrooms and fellowship spaces. The design incorporates dramatic cathedral ceiling spaces at the fellowship areas, outdoor courtyards intended for fellowship and classroom activities, and a sensitive use of forms and materials which blend closely with the existing building.

First United Methodist Waverly
Waverly United Methodist Church was originally built in 1968. ESA returned to the church for a complete update of the building’s mechanical systems, plus renovations and 2,500 SF of additional space. This phased project also included a renovation of the existing fellowship kitchen in Phase 1. Phase 2 work included a larger fellowship addition with a new kitchen facility designed to serve 200-300 people, as well as a coffee bar adjacent to the church narthex. The two-story Narthex addition extended the front entry of the church, adding over 2,500 SF of space. Main floor construction added a new air-lock vestibule for better heating and cooling and an enlarged outer narthex area adjacent to the current narthex.

First United Methodist Norfolk
An addition including a new entry, narthex, and 6-stop elevator were primary features of the First United Methodist Norfolk project. Partial interior renovations also took place in the Education Wing to create corridors for the elevator.
Liturgical
Islamic Foundation of Lincoln Mosque
The Islamic Foundation of Lincoln Mosque is a new building containing prayer areas, offices, storage rooms, bathrooms, and support areas. Also included are 100 parking stalls and associated walks. Focus on clear and efficient circulation of people to all building areas was a critical project focus. The exterior design of the building emphasizes the domed entry area and the sloped roof worship areas. Exterior finishes combine masonry at the bottom for durability, with a stucco finish for the higher wall areas. This blend of materials helps add visual interest. Wood trussed roofs, as well as wood-framed interior and exterior walls with steel columns and beams as required, provide the ability to expand the building in the future as deemed necessary. Interior features include carpet and tile flooring, painted gypsum walls, and acoustical lay-in ceilings.
Liturgical
Madonna Chapel
Madonna Chapel, a 4,500 SF facility, includes a fully handicap-accessible chapel, pastoral care office spaces, and reservation chapel. The facility is utilized by both patients of the hospital and visitors of all denominations. Features include a unique seating arrangement designed to better involve the congregation into the ceremony, an exposed wood cathedral ceiling throughout the chapel area, and extensive use of natural lighting. The building form is intended to recall mid-western rural architectural structures while providing a respectful and spiritually uplifting interior space.
